Objectif(s): The aim of this study is to provide practical scientific skills to local youth and conduct long term monitoring of the creek system.

Description du projet: This licence was issued for the scientific research licence application number 794. The aim of this study is to provide practical scientific skills to local youth and conduct long term monitoring of the creek system. The project will provide professional development for the team. Baseline data will be acquired on the chemical components of the creek system, sampling in accordance with instructions from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Reports will be provided to funding partners. Progress reports will be presented at the Mackenzie Mountain School and the Sahtu Renewable Resources Board, as well as through the Sahtu Renewable Resources Board newsletter and website. Norman Wells will benefit through local employment, rentals and purchases. Fieldwork will be conducted from March 17 to December 31, 2008 at Bosworth Creek (65° 19’N 126° 52'W), Jackfish Lake (65° 18’N 126° 39'W) and Edie Lake (65° 19’N 126° 33'W), based out of Norman Wells.
