Description du projet: The objective of the program is to observe surface geological features and document these observations. From a geological perspective the objective of the project is to complete a reconnaissance of the Cambrian and Proterozoic sections in 4 areas. Field operations will take approximately 6 days to complete. The project team will mobilize by helicopter daily from Norman Wells for the western portion of the trip (Mackenzie Mountains and Mount Clark) and from Deline for the eastern portion of the trip (Hottah Lake and McTavish Arm). The project will be initiated in the western area (Mackenzie Mountains) and proceed to the east. Within each area a reconnaissance survey will be flown to identify rock outcrops for assessment on the ground. It is anticipated that the project team will land in 4 or 5 locations within each area. While on the ground the project team will: 1. take photographs, 2. compile written observations, 3. measure characteristics of outcrops (hand held instruments), and 4. take rock samples. Devon will provide a summary of the work to the Aurora Research Institute as required in the license. Additional information will be provided to the communities if specifically requested. The proposed program is divided into 4 areas. Three are within the Sahtu Settlement Area and one area in the Tlicho Settlement Area. Fieldwork will be conducted from September 13 to 20, 2007 in the following areas: 1. Mackenzie Mountains 2. Mount Clark 3. McTavish Arm (Eastern Great Bear Lake) 4. Hottah Lake area
