Objectif(s): To locate new fossil material from known, productive Devonian deposits in the NWT in order to help settle the debate over the phylogenetic placement of lungfishes and to better evaluate the position of early, primative lungfishes on the evolutionary ladder.

Description du projet: The researchers will collect samples of Devonian-age rocks in which evidence of fossil fish (primarily lungfish) are present and take them back to the museum laboratory for preparation, study and comparison with other samples in the Museum's collection. All work to be done by hand tools in the field (hammers and chisels).
