Objectif(s): To study variations in food use in the communities of Dettah and Ndilo; to develop a training module for use in conducting community-based interviews; to develop a risk management strategy based on an assessment of consumption patterns and levels of contaminants found in local fish.
Description du projet: The researchers will be collecting information on the consumption patterns in traditional and store-bought foods as well as lifestyle patterns (e.g., fishing and hunting activities, health beliefs, traditional food use) of residents of Ndilo and Dettah. This information will be combined with results of the Back Bay Fish Study (which looks at contaminant levels in fish tissue) in order that human health implications of dietary patterns can be assessed.
