Objectif(s): To collect marine molluscs (clams and snails) to examine their distribution within the Canon and Slidre Fiords; to compare high arctic mollusc communities with those inhabiting the Baffin Island and Greenland fiords.

Description du projet: The researcher will collect samples of small organisms that live on the sea bottom in the Canon and Slidre Fiords of Ellesmere Island. These creatures include small worms, shrimp, starfish, clams and snails. Measurements will be collected on water temperature and the amounts of salt and oxygen in the water. These data will help to relate the distribution of species with the characteristics of the environment.
