Objectif(s): To obtain sediment cores from Lac Belot and Colville Lake suitable for dating and contaminant analysis; to study current and historical atmospheric inputs to these lakes; to obtain samples of fish from Lac Belot (and possibly Colville Lake) to determine contaminant levels and possible impacts on fish (especially on monooxygenase enzymes).

Description du projet: As part of this ongoing study, sediment samples will be taken fron the deepest locations of Lac Belot and Colville Lake. These samples will be analyzed for the presence of contaminants and dated. These analyses will allow the researcher to construct histories of the input of contaminants to these lakes. In addition, lake trout, whitefish and burbot will be collected to determine what contaminants they contain and whether these contaminants are affecting the fish.
