Objectif(s): To develop a theoretically based, process oriented model which is capable of predicting regeneration after fire in the Northern Boreal Forest; to develop an early post-fire Jack pine seedling growth model; to calibrate and validate the model with early post-fire data; to use the model to explain climate change and fire behaviour hypotheses for the Northern Boreal Forest;
Description du projet: The researcher and her team will glean physiological rates and relationships for tree growth from the literature and substitute the data into a functional model, which will be calibrated against intensive sampling within WBNP over dry, mesic and wet landscapes.
