Objectif(s): To continue a study begun in 1984 with this year's field season focusing on the clam: Mya truncata (walrus food) with other work on Arctic cod, kelp, phytoplankton, zooplankton and nutrient chemistry;
Description du projet: The Researchers will measure the distribution of phytoplankton, nutrients and zooplankton. They will sample the benthos, especially clams. A remote camera will be set up on southwest Devon Island to monitor the coast for movements of cod and whales. If sighted they will determine their size, sample their planktonic prey and monitor predation on the school by birds and mammals.
