Objectif(s): The researcher will be investigating the changing environment since large glaciers covered the Arctic Islands, and to use this information to determine how proposed man-made changes in climate will affect the high Arctic.

Description du projet: The researcher wishes to recover cores of sediment about 2 meters long from the sea floor near Expedition Fiord. These cores will provide confirmation of past acoustic surveys and direct evidence of changes in the physical and biological environment of the fiord. Seven sites in the fiord will have sediment cores removed.
