Objectif(s): To assess the effectiveness of environmental effects monitoring methods at N.W.T. mines; to determine the effectiveness of the regulatory controls on tailings effluent disposal at protecting the receiving environment;
Description du projet: A sampling program will be undertaken where sediment and benthic organisms will be collected at six sites sampled in 1985. The samples will be analysed to determine if any statistically significant changes in the sediment chemistry and species diversity and abundance have occurred since the mine began operation in 1985.
