Objectif(s): To identify criteria utilized in site analysis and document data regarding site selection for the artificial reef; to generate a baseline species inventory for the study area and document speices diversity, density and biomass in established control and experimental sites; to create an artificial reef in an established experimental site using the S.S. Graham Bell and document processes leading up to and including the sinking; to develop programs for three potential user groups;
Description du projet: The Researcher will create an artifical reef in the Churchill region and develop an arctic ecosystem study site. She will create a species inventory which will involve benthic sampling using SCUBA gear. Species include benthic marine invertebrates, fish and pelagic invertebrates found in 0-20 metres of water.
