Objectif(s): To investigate the origin and evolution of the paleosols (ancient soils) beneath the Thelon and Hornby Bay basins; to make regional comparisons between the paleosols beneath each basin; to draw conclusionswith regard to the physical and chemical environments which prevailed during their development; to document and interpret the clay mineralization alteration associated with mineralization within and proximal to the paleosol

Description du projet: The researcher will collect and document rock samples of the paleosol (ancient soil) developed beneath the sedimentary rocks of the 1.7 billion year old Hornby Bay Basin.
