Objective(s): To add to our knowledge of the vertebrate fauna from this beaver-pond site near Strathcona Fiord by collecting bones and other fossils in order to beter understand the evolutionary relationship of previously unknown Pliocene vertebrate, the unique "boreal forest" enviornment that existed in Pliocene time, and the geological age of the deposit.

Project Description: The researcher will carefully trowel and wet screan a peaty deposit to gather remains of Tertiary vertebrates, plant, and invertebrates remains in the beaver-pond site near Strathcona Fiord. This will be done in an effort to better understand the paleoenviornment and the geological age of the deposit.
