Principal Investigator:Peterson, Tony D. Licensed Year(s):
1994
Summary:
Collection of rock samples and subsequent study by examination of thin sections, geochemical analyses, and geological mapping. Work in the field is conducted by boat and foot traversing with some support by aircraft. This will be done in order to determine the geological history of Archean crystalline rocks....
Principal Investigator:Dixon, O.A. Licensed Year(s):

199219901988 Summary:
In the Arctic Islands, we are studying rocks and the fossils found within these rocks that were formed more than 400 million years ago in warm tropical seas. This study is expected to help in describing the temperatures, climate and water depths of these ancient seas. We are also studying the types of fossil corals and sponge-like animals that are not present in our seas today....

1990 Summary:
On Melville and Bathurst Islands, the Researchers will locate and describe the occurrence of high-level gravels and sands, record evidence of the flow-direction of the rivers in which they originated and search for plant and insect fossils that may provide clues about the age of these deposits and about the climate and environment at that time....
Principal Investigator:Bradley, Raymond S. Licensed Year(s):
1979
Summary:
To study the recent geological history of the area and to core lake bottoms in an attempt to ascertain the nature of past climates. The core samples will be analysed for the presence of pollen and small organisms (diatoms and foraminifera)....
Principal Investigator:Lenz, Alfred C. Licensed Year(s):
1979
Summary:
To collect samples of graptolites and other fossils to better understand the geologic history of these regions....
