Objective(s): to collect tree core samples from old-aged trees in Northern Canada; to measure rates of tree growth throughout the past and relate these growth areas to past climate variations; to compare the tree-ring data to climatic variations; to obtain information about how the climate system functions and what future variations may be expected;

Project Description: The object of this research is to reconstruct past climate in order to understand how the climate system works, and what past natural variations may be expected based upon this information. This project is to sample old-aged trees and to assemble enough coverage to reconstruct regional and Hemispheric temperatures for the most recent centuries.
