Objective(s): to study the rates of carbon accumulation by soil algae and to determine the rates of photosynthesis by these organisms.

Project Description: Mr. Bliss and his research team intend to continue their study in the role of soil algae in high arctic ecosystem development. This year his focus will be directed toward the uptake of carbon, nitrogen and other organics; how the soil algae develop with or without sunlight will be measured also.
