Objective(s): To develop a profile of views about what is or is not working in efforts to support acceptable Community Development (understood as one whole development process with social, cultural, economic and political indicators) as defined by approximately 300 interviews with residents in three communities in the southwestern NWT; and, to compare the results of this survey with those of a similar survey conducted in the Baffin region in 1987-88

Project Description: Mr. Tourangeau will be interviewing a residents about their views of community development. Each interview will consist of about 50 questions to find out what community needs are and what is being done about them. This information will be returned to the community councils for their use. The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs will use the work to improve their programs that relate to community development.
