Objective(s): to identify the fauna of the Igloolik region (mammals, birds, fish, insects, marine vertegrates, etc.) and to study the related terminology; to investigate how Inuit identify, classify and represent animals; and, to collect information on the Inuit's knowledge of animals (habits, social life, interspecific relationships, reproduction, migrations, etc.).

Project Description: Mr. Randa is returning from France to collect more information on the Inuktitut words for different animals around Igloolik. He will also be asking hunters and trappers how they recognize different animals and what they know about the lives of these animals.
