Objectif(s): To complete a study of Inuktitut in the Eastern Arctic and Keewatin with respect to how the language is currently changing. Interviews will be conducted with the informed consent of various community agencies and individuals regarding the development of new words which explains new items and ideas as well as changes in the sounds and sentence structure. Influences from other languages will be examined and vocabulary developed by various groups and individuals for the same item or concept will be compared so that terms suggested at all levels of society will be brought to light.
