Objective(s): The objectives of this project are: 1. To assess the integration of the wind energy project into the Hamlet of Paulatuk electric power system. 2. To perform a field review of the Paulatuk electrical power system, develop an electric power system model in relevant software, analyze/simulate the electric power system / wind energy project, and report on the study results.
Project Description: This licence has been issued for the scientific research application No.5488. The objectives of this project are: 1. To assess the integration of the wind energy project into the Hamlet of Paulatuk electric power system. 2. To perform a field review of the Paulatuk electrical power system, develop an electric power system model in relevant software, analyze/simulate the electric power system / wind energy project, and report on the study results. There will be ongoing communication with the Paulatuk Energy Working Group (PEWG) and with Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) throughout the project, including bi-weekly progress meetings, day to day communication with PEWG on an as needed basis, and (with appropriate permission) engagement with PEWG representatives and the Hamlet of Paulatuk representatives on matters relevant to the project / scope of work. The power system impact study report and results will be provided to both PEWG and NTPC. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from: January 01 - December 31, 2024
