Objective(s): To conduct geological mapping on the Van property which will include stratigraphic rock sampling above and below the known vanadium rich mineralization and possible rock sampling in areas of the property of geological interest.

Project Description: This licence has been issued for the scientific research application No.5188. The research team will conduct geological mapping on the Van property. This will include stratigraphic rock sampling above and below the known vanadium rich mineralization and possible rock sampling in areas of the property of geological interest. Geologic mapping is conducted by visually inspecting surface exposures of rocks, including breaking of small pieces of rock to expose fresh surfaces. Structural measurements will also be taken from existing fractures and sedimentary beds, this is non-destructive. Samples will be broken off surface exposed rocks and will be approximately 1-2 fist sized. Approximately 30-40 samples will be taken for this project. A description of work and location maps will be sent to the Dehcho First Nation Environment and Conservation Committee in Jean Marie River, Fort Liard, Nahanni Butte, and Fort Simpson. Results of the work will be available in a report to the Geological Survey of Canada and in a Masters of Science thesis at the University of Toronto. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from June 26, 2022 to July 02, 2022
