Project Description: This licence has been issued for the scientific research application No.5128. The research aims to assist economic arms of small and isolated communities develop criteria and indicators for their social and economic development. It also aims to enrich the academic debate on social impact investing and to explore funding policies and tools for social innovation and social finance. The expected outcome is a model of economic development which increases the understanding on how to build sustainable community capacity, address social issues while at the same time have some financial returns for the private investors. The method will be primarily Case Study Method with semi-structured interviews with participating institutions/organizations. Multiple institutions/organizations involved in financing social projects or receiving funding for social economic project across provinces in Canada will be approached. Two Organizations from Yellowknife, NWT have shown interest in the project. Those Institutions willing to participate will then be listed and approached to provide a list of participants from their organization to be interviewed. The investigator will then approach the participants with the Information Sheet and Consent Form and list of questions to have a semi-structured interview session. A follow-up session may be scheduled at request of the participant or where more information or clarity is required. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from January 18, 2022 to December 31, 2022.
