Objective(s): To analyze a data set that covers the time intervals from October 2014 to November 2015 on the Northern Sustainable Housing Project duplex in Inuvik.

Project Description: The analysis will be done on a data set that covers at least the time interval from October 2014 to November 2015. The following steps are proposed: 1. Pre-process of data: data quality, identification of outliers, missing data, faulty sensors. 2. Development of a working good data file. 3. Identification of the pattern of energy use such as the hourly, daily and monthly profiles. 4. Development of different metrics such as (i) the energy signature (the energy use vs outdoor air temperature), (ii) contribution of major end-uses (heating, hot water, ventilation, ventilation preheating, electricity) to the total energy use, (iii) renewable energy generated on site by PV panels. Other metrics might be generated upon the data analysis. 5. Development of benchmarks for the current operation and comparison with similar values from other locations, if available. A report with results from the data analysis will be presented to the Arctic Energy Alliance by June 2017. Collaboration is with Arctic Energy Alliance, and Northwest Territories Housing Corporation. Research results will be disseminated through the collaboration of Arctic Energy Alliance and Northwest Territories Housing Corporation. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from September 1, 2016 to December 30, 2016.
