Objective(s): To delineate the hydrocarbon contamination at the site resulting from an overflow of fuel at a vent pipe of an above ground storage tank.

Project Description: The main objective of the Phase III Environmental Site Assessment is to delineate the hydrocarbon contamination at the site resulting from an overflow of fuel at a vent pipe of an above ground storage tank. Test holes will be excavated with a backhoe around the former spill area in order to collect soil samples. Each sample will be submitted to a Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation for analysis. Once the results are received, they will be interpreted and compared to the regulatory guidelines applicable to a federally owned site and recommendations will be made regarding the best course of action to mitigate the risk associated with the site. The results of the study will be communicated by our client - Public Works and Government Services - to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from August 7, 2013 October 1, 2013.
