Objective(s): To identify the leadership qualities that are essential to effect positive transformational change, specifically in relation to the implementation of telehealth technologies.

Project Description: The purpose of this project is to identify the leadership qualities that are essential to effect positive transformational change, specifically in relation to the implementation of telehealth technologies. By determining these leadership qualities and then integrating them into the Information Services Division’s operations, policies, and procedures, telehealth and eHealth can move closer to being part of mainstream health care and the de facto service environment. Action-based research methodology will be used, which is qualitative in nature. The action is specifically aimed towards an increase in effectiveness. It involves cooperative engagement between the researcher and the organization; it is intended to effect positive sustainable change towards resolution of an issue. Research participants are NWT government employees who have been directly involved in the NWT Telespeech Language Pathology Project. Copies of the research will be provided to all participants, The Government of the Northwest Territories, and potentially the work will be published in peer-reviewed Journals. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from July 27, 2010 to December 31, 2010.
