Objective(s): To determine effects of low-flow conditions on overwintering fish habitats in target area. This will include water depth and velocity transects, fish sampling and dissolved oxygen level measurements.

Project Description: To determine the effects of low-flow conditions on overwintering fish habitats in target area. This will include water depth and velocity transects, fish sampling and dissolved oxygen level measurements. Sampling efforts will be focused on the habitats associated with the diversion reach of the Project and will also include habitats immediately upstream and downstream. At select locations, ice holes will be established to determine ice thickness, water velocity, wetted depth under the ice and dissolved oxygen levels. Where possible, fish sampling would be conducted through angling, seine netting or minnow trapping. Additionally, an assessment of the overwintering potential of the habitats in the diversion reach would be conducted. A local representative will be included in all aspects of the field program. A report of the findings will be prepared and provided to the community of Lutsel K'e. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from March 2010 to December 31, 2010.
