Project Description: This licence is being issued for the scientific research application no. 918. The objective of this research is to examine an emergency management model in a northern territory of Canada. This examination will highlight the need to achieve greater efficiencies in the assignment of tasks to fulfill the normal emergency responsibility areas assigned to police and civil authorities. This research project aims to draw generalized conclusions on the NWT joint emergency management model from the findings of the literature review and an analysis of the results of interviews conducted. Interviews required for this study will be arranged with appropriate emergency management, executive-level, security and police officials. The major research project final report will be made available publicly through the Royal Roads University Library and submitted to Aurora Research Institute. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted in Yellowknife from February 23 to December 31, 2009. Show less
