Project Description: This licence is issued for the scientific research application #441. The objective of this field work is to measure and map the Lonely Bay Formation and Chinchaga Formation in outcrop. This information will then be used to interpret vertical and lateral relationships between the two formations seen in drill cores. The research will consist of examining 6 outcrops (4 road accessible and 2 accessible via helicopter). The purpose of this research is to better understand the distribution of subsurface Devonain rock formations in the area. This research will help develop an understanding the lateral relation between core samples that were taken the 1950s. Measurements will be taken using a compass and a meter stick. Samples totaling no more than one cubic meter will be taken from four of the outcrops. These results will be written up in a paper and a PhD thesis. A poster with images of the field work and a description of the project could also be provided, if requested. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from August 22 to September 06, 2008 at 6 outcrops located at: 62º33’16 N, 116º30’30W; 62º31’52N, 116º27’18W; 62º29’42N, 116º28’15W; 62º30’41N, 116º20’12W; 62º07’43N, 115º32’04W; 62º07’21, 115º31’40W.
