Project Description: This licence is issued for the scientific research application #861. This study is designed to examine streams possibly affected by the proposed Mackenzie Gas Project pipeline and streams that can serve as future control/reference sites. The researcher will measure the following: nutrients and metals in stream water, stream water quality (DO, pH, conductivity, etc.), and aquatic invertebrate abundance/species composition. This research will focus specifically on lake floor aquatic invertebrates and lake water plankton. This study will look at about nineteen streams in the Deh Cho and South Slave Settlement Regions which will be accessed via motor vehicle from the highway. The researcher is willing to discuss this study with interested parties while they are in the study area. Furthermore, they are willing to show interested parties how the samples are collected.
