Project Description: The research will examine how long-standing residents (people living in Yellowknife over 20 years) give meaning to places in the area and how that meaning has changed over the past twenty years. The research will involve a sample of about twenty Yellowknife residents (chosen using a snowball sample) who will participate in an interview. These interviews will be recorder using: an audio recorder, paper and pen, and a digital camera. The research is completely voluntary. The research will involve a sample of residents who will be asked to: 1) provide selected photos from the past 20 years and 2) take new photos over a two-week period.
