Objective(s): The goal of this study is to explore the theory of cultural identity in a questionnaire for Aboriginal people in Dettah, N'Dilo and Yellowknife.
Project Description: The goal of this study is to explore the theory of cultural identity in a questionnaire for Aboriginal people in Dettah, N'Dilo and Yellowknife. The hope is to obtain a clear picture of what is going on in the minds of participants and about the struggle of Aboriginal people. This can be used to develop a different approach to improving the living conditions of First Nation people, based on the promotion of a cultural identity rather than simply a positive identity. The results of this research will be made available to all participants. The researchers also wish to gain feedback for future research. Data will be obtained by surveys distributed by the researcher, or through the mail. The sample size will be determined by the number of willing participants. Consent forms will be used. The survey includes standard psychological questionnaires. There will be opportunity to discuss the project with the researcher and ask questions. A report will be given to all participants, any interested community members, and ARI. Fieldwork will be conducted from February 22 to 28, 2008 in Dettah, N'Dilo and Yellowknife.
