Project Description: The research, being carried out on four ice caps and one glacier, will determine if the ice at these locations is melting faster than it is accumulating. Researchers will fly out of Resolute Bay, Nunavut, to the automatic weather station located on the ice cap, to check instruments and collect snow samples (to check the acid content of the snow). Local travel to research sites is by snowmobile. Some community members and students from the closer communities may accompany researchers to observe ice core drilling work.
