Objective(s): It is important for researchers to improve their understanding of the sensitivity of slopes to disturbance from development, especially in the context of progressive climate warming. Additionally, predictions of the impacts of climate change on the terrain and infrastructure are needed. This project involves 1) surficial geology mapping of unmapped areas between the Dahadinni River and the confluence of the Trail and Mackenzie Rivers, and 2) reconnaissance mapping in the mountains west of Wrigley Lake. Maps to be produced include a surficial geology map, granular resources map, and a map documenting landslides. Geochemical data of till and gravel samples collected during mapping will also be recorded. The reconnaissance mapping will complete the fieldwork required to produce a map of the glacial limits of northwestern Canada.
