Objective(s): The overall aim of this research is to develop a made-for-the-north environmental monitoring system that can be community based. The research will study small second order streams entering the Mackenzie River in order to 1) develop descriptors to measure physical aspects of small stream environments; and 2) determine which biological organisms to use to monitor stream health.
