Objectif(s): Shell Canada is examining the feasibility of using a barge-mounted gas conditioning facility (GCF) for installation at the Niglintgak Gas Field. The dimensions of the proposed barge-mounted GCF and its destination present logistical challenges that require bathymetric research to be conducted. This study will verify the bathymetric desk study, determine the feasibility of maneuvering a barge through the Mackenzie River system and positioning it in the Kumak Channel, and identify locations where bottom preparation of the river channel may be required to enable barge passage.
