Objectif(s): A recycling program was established in Inuvik in 2000 by a group of volunteers and a recycling coordinator. The program appears to be successful, but questions around who does or does not recycle and why remain. The purpose of this project is to conduct a survey to understand recycling experiences in Inuvik. Previous studies have dealt with public perceptions of recycling in Canadian cities and towns, but because recycling is relatively new to many places in the North, there seems to be a gap in the literature pertaining to Canada's three territories. The specific objectives of this research are to determine who is recycling in Inuvik, what portion of the population is recycling, and why people choose to recycle or not.
