Objective(s): Sea ice is decreasing at an alarming rate throughout the northern hemisphere. The researchers will collect information from an aerial survey platform which can be used to produce better estimates of sea ice concentration in the fall and spring using passive microwave satellite remote sensing information. This information will allow the researcher to more precisely calibrate the satellite data and thus produce better regional estimations of the reduction in sea ice in the ISR.
