Objective(s): Baseline studies will be conducted for the proposed wellsite, access roads and other related infrastructure. The objective of this study is to determine the presence or absence of fish habitat and wildlife in the vicinity of the proposed project. A literature search for registered archaeological sites within the proposed project area will be initiated. The information from these surveys will be part of an environmental assessment for the planned drilling and production operations of the project. Vegetation and habitat types will be assessed. Water resources will be assessed for quantity and quality. All data will be compiled and interpreted in an Environmental Assessment summary document which would highlight all key environmental issues, including fisheries and wildlife, that are related to the project. The objective of the wildlife work is to record wildlife sightings, habitat and sign in the study area. The proposed aquatics work consists of two components: fish habitat and water quality. A fish habitat assessment will be completed on the relevant water bodies in the project area in consultation with DFO. The objective of the water survey is to document baseline water quality from water bodies near proposed development sites.
