Project Description: In the spring, this research will consist of fish migration and stream habitat studies. The immigration and emigration of key fish species (grayling and northern pike) will be evaluated. In the late summer, fish population assessments will be done in Kennady Lake and tributary streams including habitat mapping for attributes and species use. This data will fill some of the existing information gaps needed to determine the amount of compensation Monopros Ltd will be responsible for should they be given the approval to develop the site. The fisheries work will include live trapping at stream fence trap installations and use of hoop nets and electrofishing. No fish will intentionally be killed. More details of the fish collection strategies may be found in the fisheries research permit issued by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for this project.
