Objective(s): To determine if ice caps in the Canadian archipelago are growing or shrinking and monitor climatic changes. In addition, discover the extent, intensity, and changes in pollutants, both in recent times and over the last 100,000 years.

Project Description: The researchers will measure the snow mass at fixed locations on each of four ice caps. This will be compared to similar measures taken last year. Ice and snow samples will also be collected for later analysis for pollutants. Ice cores will be drilled from the Penny Penny Ice Cap at several locations.
