Objective(s): To examine the extent and pattern of historical ocean disposal at these sites; and to conduct a survey in the Iqaluit area.

Project Description: This study will be conducted from Canadian Coat Guard's icebreaker the Perrie Radisson. This study will consist of: a preliminary sidescan sonar survey to determine the distribution of material on the bottom; identification of objects using either a remote operating vehicle or divers in shallow water; and sampling of water, sediment and biota in the vicinity of selected objects. Some objects identified in the survery will be recovered for examination.
