Objective(s): To make recommendations that will likely minimize bear and human conflicts; and to assess the Public Information system as it relates to bears at the Nahanni National Park Reserve.

Project Description: The researcher will be conducting literature reviews on the subject. Park records, incidents and damage reports will also be reviewed in order to produce management recommendations that will likely minimize bear and human conflicts. Field research will be done in order to evaluate bear habitat and rate the habitat as low, moderate, high or very high potential for bear and human conflict. Human facilities and activities in this area will also be evaluated.
