Objective(s): To identify community concerns in the collection of traditional knowledge; to examine the links between community members and the local Hunters' and Trappers' Association; to examine the links between the local and regional Hunters' and Trappers' organizations.

Project Description: Traditional knowledge includes ecological information that is a profound body of information which is unique to its holders. To various governing bodies established under Nunavut, this knowledge could be both a source of information and a means for Inuit expression and self-determination. I will examine key features of this knowledge to identify issues of data ownership/control/access as well as institutional means to collect and use the data.
