Objective(s): To examine how elderly Inuit have been portrayed in anthropological literature and to compare this to the views held by the elders themselves.

Project Description: The researcher plans to interview elderly Inuit to determine their views on their quality of life (both past and current). Information will be collected on the elders' views about their role and involvement in community life, their views on what it is (and was) like to be an elder in Inuit society, and the types of support services (formal and informal) as well as facilities available to them.
