Objective(s): To analyze the business decision-making process undertaken by Inuit women entrepreneurs who are developing and managing small businesses; to identify, with these women, local business opportunities; to identify small business development and management techniques that are compatible with Inuit cultural values, systems of exchange, and northern economic and environmental circumstances; to deliver a workshop on skin-tanning and business skills.
Project Description: This research is designed to meet the stated needs of Inuit women entrepreneurs in the community of Coral Harbour. Data will be collected through interviews, group discussion and participant observation. The purpose of this study is to explore the business decision-making processes of participants. The study will develop a database in order to provide Inuit women and policy makers with information to assist in cultural and economic growth.
