Objective(s): To continue to investigate the existence of populations of shrimp, scallops, cod, clams, crab and turbot located in the marine waters near to the communities of Taloyoak, Holman, Gjoa Haven, Cambridge Bay, Coppermine and Umingmaktok; to determine if these populations could support a commercial harvest.

Project Description: The Department of Renewable Resources, in consultation with Hunters and Trappers organizations, will continue their survey of the types and quantities of marine species found in the waters near Holman, Taloyoak, Gjoa Haven, Cambridge Bay, Coppermine and Umingmaktok. The researchers are interested in knowing if there are sufficient shrimp, scallops, cod, clams, crab or turbot for supporting commercial harvests.
