Objective(s): To record and evaluate the experiences of various groups and agencies gained during the rights assurance, project preparation, operations and shut-down phases of the Chevron/Fort Good Hope Joint Venture; to identify the lessons/recommendations which should be applied directly to future oil and gas construction, operation and abandonment (focusing on Beaufort Delta gas production and Mackenzie Valley pipeline development) with a focus on the social, economic, environmental and management regimes.

Project Description: The research team will develop interview guidelines and a questionnaire in order to collect the experiences of community, industry, government and special interest group members gained during the Chevron/Fort Good Hope Joint Venture and to apply recommendations of this study to future oil and gas developments. The project is guided by a Steering Committee made up of representatives from Chevron, Fort Good Hope, the Shihta Regional Council and the GNWT.
