Objective(s): To revisit study plots established in 1987 in order to investigate changes in the population of thick-billed murres; to band chicks and adults to determine levels of mortality incurred during the `turr' hunt in Newfoundland.

Project Description: The researchers will return to Akpatok Island in order to gather information on the biology of these seabirds. This study will increase knowledge on population size, the effects of the annual `turr' hunt in Newfoundland on this population, and where thick-billed murres overwinter in the south.
