Project Team: crew and associated researchers aboard the Canadian Oceanographic Research Vessel CSS Hudson

Objective(s): To collect regional data regarding the distribution of seafloor sediments, depositional environments, paleoceanographic conditions, the late glacial-postglacial geological history and the Earth's gravity and magnetic fields in offshore areas of Hudson Strait and Ungava Bay.

Project Description: This survey will take place from a ship travelling through the Hudson Strait and Ungava Bay region. The researchers will collect information on the history and characteristics of the seabed. Some samples of sediments on the seafloor will be taken for further analyses. Transfer of a few of the ship's crew may take place at Cape Dorset but all other activities will take place in locations remote from land.
