Objectif(s): To understand the relationships among different species of grasses and investigate their origins; to improve the system of identifying grass species; to develop an herbarium of NWT grasses.
Description du projet: The researcher will continue her study on NWT grasses. She will collect living plants in order to conduct chemical analyses on the plant tissue. These tests will help to identify different species of grasses (especially those that look very similar) and also help to determine where these species originated from. In addition, the researcher has small experiments on grass being conducted by staff at the Inuvik, Igloolik and Iqaluit Research Centres.
